Who are We ?

Regional Development Australia (Gippsland) is one of a nation-wide network of 55 RDA Committees, representing all of Australia - and includes remote, rural, regional and metropolitan regions. RDA has a broad set of objectives aimed at enhancing the economic, social and sustainable development of Australia.

Funding

Commonwealth Funding

The Australian Government has announced the opening of the new National Stronger Regions Fund (NSRF). This Fund will invest $1 billion over five years to promote economic development in Australia’s regions.

Funding will be provided for capital projects which involve construction of new infrastructure, or the upgrade, extension or enhancement of existing infrastructure. Projects selected for funding should deliver an economic benefit to the region beyond the period of construction, and should support disadvantaged regions or areas of disadvantage within a region.

Local Government and incorporated not-for-profit organisations are eligible to apply for grants of between $20,000 and $10 million. Grant funding must be matched in cash on at least a dollar for dollar basis, and the funded part of the project must be completed on or before 31 December 2019.

Victorian Government

Regional Development Victoria’s grants programs are largely delivered within the framework of the government’s Regional Growth Fund (RGF). The RGF will deliver $1 billion over eight years to build and upgrade local services and infrastructure, as well as invest in local skills and industries to promote jobs.
The RGF will:

  • provide better infrastructure, facilities and services.
  • strengthen the economic, social and environmental base of communities.
  • create new jobs and improve career opportunities.
  • support the planning and development of projects.
  • leverage increased investment.
